Next Wave Special:

I like to call it Uprising to
the Next Wave
Here I will share : what does a Bluewaters DTS (Desciple Training School) look like, how I percived it and where do we go from here spreading the good news.
The work on board the Next Wave
Ywam has a marine extension around the world called marinereachministries (.com) and the Next Wave’s Location for outreach to the nations is in the bluewaters between Europe and North Africa.
In general within 2/3 years the ship sails from North Europe down along the coast of North Afrika and the Mediterranean nations and returns, Stoping  in as many ports as possible to give, bless and Share what we freely receive.
The Next Wave’s home port is in Liverpool.
Every year the ship prepares for its main calling to raise, train and release the next  generation of young missionary’s to the nations. It mainly starts in September.
My experience
On my DTS in 2011-1012 ,I travelled from Ibiza to Malaga, Portugal, Bilbao, France and England. On our outreach we  had a big reunion in London,(great opportunity to visit London for the first time ever) later we flew to Ireland then to Morocco.

With the experience of six months with the DTS I grew a lot personally and mainly i know now       who I am in Christ, I learnt to stop and listen to God’s voice and his purpose for me, after an intense transformation of my own thoughts, ways and my daily view on life.
I no longer believe in God...  I KNOW HIM pesonally. I would define my experience with Him so far in my Life and especially  on my DTS  as a re-assembly of my soul, part by part polishing it.
During the first three months (the Lecture Faze) God changed my dreams and expectations in my life and what I thought of it to be, promising a lot more than what I could even imagine. He started to reveal it to me slowly.
I found my self praying for what  to do with my life after the DTS. For what I know God wants us to lean on Him by faith and He reveals His plan step by step, but for me it seemed to be in leaps, when the Ship was held in Plymouth, England by the MCA. I was asked If I would do the training to become competent crew now and pay later in return or serve as crew for long term on the ship (2 years)
When the leader said that I could pay in return in service, I recognised God speaking through him in answer to my prayer. That’s how I preceived it.
But...
I was astonished and soon realised what was required of me to obey.
How was I to know what to do about  fund raising ? my family’s expectations, my talents?  how am I to become a missionary/seafarer.
I prayed and asked God to confirm this in me.

Lecture Faze ended after intense lectures with different speakers flown in from around the world, who have had personal experiences with God in depth about a specific topic, humble and submitted to God encountering His presence and expression of love towards us.
Then...
Outreach Faze started. We were divided into two teams to reach out to nations within North Africa and Europe. One team went to France and my team to Morocco, where we were left with our preparation alone under God’s hand to seek his current work and glory over the land we were led to.
Morocco is a very different  place and difficult in contrast to Europe. I was the only one to find my self well identified with the people and the land, understanding  why God has given me certain desires in my heart, I came to realise the bigger picture set before me by God revealing to me a hint of possible work in Morocco, North Africa, giving me a heart for the people.
This led me to wonder why am I discovering this now? were is He leading me? am I called to Morocco, North Africa? How am I to be a mission worker? Etc.
This went on for a few weeks...
Then I remembered what happened in Plymouth and what God told me.Yet again God surprised me in how He reweals himself to me and answers the questions I had mixed up in my mind, He was leading me all along confirming and explaining why I am to serve as crew and/or as Staff on the C/y Next Wave.
Now I am determined to obey and to return to the ship with or with out what the world would think how I should go prepared.
When am I to return? Before I was not shore, but recently I was encouraged by God after facing my giants here, confirming in me to just simply go this september  when the next DTS starts.

What does a DTS look like?
It is a six month Christian missionary training school formed by two main parts: three month Lecture and thre months of outreach.
The first is the preparation and the space for God to transform us in the three months of Lecture with different anointed speakers from around the world to share in testimony and personal experience that they have experienced in their own relationship with God.
On my DTS we had weekly teachings on different  topics with specific speakers like:
Father Heart of God, Kingdom of God, Identity, Bible overview, Post Modernity, Spiritual Warfare, Discipleship, Holy spirit, Worship and a last Debrief before returning.
Secondly follows the three month of outreach into two nations with two teams in each location, together seeking God’s glory and His work over the land, with our growth and anointing discovered during the first three months.

On my DTS one team of Six went around France and my team of 11 went to Morocco, with care to not expose the permanent missionarys there.

 The Ship, Crew and Trainees
The Next Wave is part of Ywam England  based in Liverpool and is international and interdenominational meaning that they have on board different people from different church back grounds from all over the world. On board they usually speak mostly English, and those who have difficulties, we all help the person to understand.
On my DTS we were 15, six from the U.S, two from Canada, two from England,  one from Australia, one from the Netherlands, one from Austria, one from Switzerland and my self, Spain. Some of us had difficulties with english, but we ended up learning more English.

The crew on board is a result from a previous DTS. For significant reasonsThe Next Wave can only accept crew who have graduated from a DTS with Ywam. as they have learned the values intended by God during a DTS and they can work with them in harmony.
On my DTS my outreach leader was a recent DTS graduate from Ywam Harpenden in Englad, that God had lead towards the ship to become Crew/staff.

What will it look like this year? Here is a basic sample:

The Costs on the Ship

The bunk, food and insurance is about 300€ per month.
They recomend aproximately280€ for miselaneous, personal costs, flight tickets, tythings and to bless.Price of flight tickets depends a lot on destination.
Total basic costs is 580€ per month on the Ship
Note: Anyone can visit and stay onboard during a sail opportunity for a special fee. Explore and Contact  www.ywamnextwave.org
I wish to share that I am trying to save up for a laptop. Macbook would be ideal due to being durable and reliable as it wont be convenient to have problems in any of the different locations we travel to. I can get very creative with it and also it’s a good investment as an office to keep in contact with family, friends, the church and sponsors.

Thank you very much for reading and for your support.
